On 01.01.1959, Cuban revolution was successful after overthrowing the pro-US puppet regime. For the past 40 years, under the clear-sighted leadership of President and General Secretary of Cuban Communist Party - Phidel Castro, the Cuban people have reaped achievement after achievement in various fields as economy, politics, culture, society, science _ technology, health care, education _ sport, etc. For this period, Cuba and Vietnam have stood shoulder and shoulder in the cause of struggling, building _ defending their own countries. |
In order to celebrate this historic event of 40th Anniv. of Cuban Revolution and mark close relationship between the two peoples, on 30.12.1998, Department General of Posts _ Telecommunications (DGPT) issues the stampset "40th Anniversary of Cuban Revolution" with one value of 400d. The stampset shows the stylised number 40: No. 4 representing for revolutionary wall in Latin America with some images on Cuba_s remarkable economic achivements as mining, sugar-cane industry, construction, etc and No. 0 representing for Cuban flag. Outstanding on the stamp is Revolutionary Memorial at the Revolutionary square (Havana - Cuba).
