UN's special session for children

     On the occasion of UN's special session for children to be held in Washington in September, 2001 and the safe-day for Vietnamese children, the Department General of Posts & Telecommunications (DGPT) issues the stampset "For Vietnamese Children First" consisting of two values.

VND400 (2-1): To see children safe
The image on the stamp shows two children, one wearing life jacket and the other putting on motorbike-safety helmet depicting a symbolic safety environment for children, especially in the traffic on land and water. It is the care of programs of Vietnam, UNICEF and some other international organizations. There are many activities to see Vietnamese children safe in order to reduce the deaths or wounds of children caused by traffic accidents, feeding the fishes, food poisoning, electric shock...     

VND5000 (2-2): UN's special session for children
The stamp features five pupils in different clothes and skin colours symbolizing the five continents. They are smiling and cheerfully looking forward to the successes of UNGASS in September 2001.
