The year of 2001 opens up the new millennium for mankind. To correspond with this special event, the Department General of Posts and Telecommunications issues a special stamp set entitled "Vietnam boldly steps into the new millennium".

     The one-model set has a face value of VND400, manifesting the determination of Vietnamese people to "hold the flag of science as we did in the past with the national flag", firmly trusting in the right path chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho to ensure fast and sustainable national development to become a new descending dragon in the new millennium.
