Tran Huy Lieu was a revolutionist, a writer with the penname of Nam Kieu and many others. He was born in Van Cat commune, Vu Ban district, Nam Dinh province on November 5th , 1901 and passed away on July 28th, 1969, leaving his main works: A load on his mind, Dedicating oneself to nation, Record of events written in prison, Patriotic hero, A common story, Thai Nguyen uprising, Vietnam’s modern revolutionary history, 80 years against the French, Vietnam revolution in literature & poetry, Nguyen Trai and other essays.
On the occasion of his birth centenary, the Department General of Posts and Telecommunications issues the stamp set: “100th Birth Anniversary of Tran Huy Lieu (November 5th, 1901 - November 5th, 2001)". The stampset consists of one denomination of VND800 presenting the portrait of Tran Huy Lieu - the writer and the revolutionary and some of his main works.
